The hilt is large and comfortable in the hand. The blade is constructed of steel (possibly forge folded) and strong, maintaining its cutting edge. Under the pommel there is an inscription with reads ‘Sri Sita Ram Ji Sahai’ (with the protection of Sri Sita and Ram), followed by the owners name. On the forte of the blade there is a gold inlaid parasol marking, which associates this with the royal arsenal. A rare marking to be found on Indian sword.
