A very good wootz Tulwar with Silver koftgari hilt.
THIS EXAMPLE
The Hilt is of traditional form, associated with the Jodhpur region. The silver koftgari work is in the form of stylised stars. The silver work application is thick and has stood the test of time. The hilt is of a rare type which is not seen on the market as much as others. The Tulwar blade is made of Persian wootz with prominent swirls and crystallised patterns. It is a thick fighting blade of purpose.
The condition of the Tulwar is very good. The hilt is showing signs of age with the silver koftgari work 80% remaining. The blade is in near mint condition with the Persian wootz blade showing highly visible patterns throughout the entire length of the blade.
Accompanied with a new scabbard with white copper fittings to match the period.
CONCLUSION
Overall a very Wootz Tulwar with a traditional and nice hilt.
